Good luck with your GC, I hope you don't have the problems that other GC owners have.

The Grand Cherokees don't have any more problems than the XJ.

It's unfortunate that you believe that. I've had quite a few XJs, 2 ZJs and 2 WJs. I had 10 times the trouble out of the Grands than any XJ I've owned. Go ahead and stock up on VSS's now. Then when you figure out why it won't shift out of first gear when it has less than 1/4 tank of gas, please let me know.

At least he got one with the 4.0. The other engines don't even make good boat anchors.

With that said, I really like the way a mildly lifted WJ on all terrains looks.

there is quite the list of recalls for early wj's... heated seats catching fire, brakes, fuel pump and tank, steering box, injectors, air bags and a lot of lighting recalls. 99's were the worst year.

Good luck with the WJ. I had a 2004 WJ & loved it. Never should have sold it. I know the early 99 & 00 had quite a bit of problems.

Good luck with it & keep posting pictures.

Heh, I see them for $1-2k all the time around here now, they're almost cheaper than XJs. Biggest problems I ever see on them are blown head gaskets, big deal.

I really want one for a stock DD, but between my XJ, pickup and motorcycle I can't really afford a 4th vehicle.

I see tons of them for 1500 bucks with a knocking motor but that's not with a 4.0.
