What are some common issue's or things I should look out for? Which year models of the XJ were considered the best? It is an auto with 220000km.

Few bad points, Rear diff has a bit of noise in it. (bad wheel bearing and pinion) and the steering arm joint and a few bushes need replacing and the windscreen has 2 cracks in it. Still drivable... I can get a used rear diff and transmission in great condition for $300 but I no longer have the time to fix it or even the time to drive it! So I'm selling it cheap for a quick sale $4,000 firm

 

No, its not a good deal. Looks used and abused. Check out the broken and loose wheel flares. Is that rust I see in the rear wheel well in the second pic? .Look for rust and crappy mods. Mods generally don't add value. Nothing wrong with the year, but the high miles, modifications, and condition do not reflect $4,000 asking price in my mind. Look for a clean, low mileage stock Jeep.

 

Is the $4,000 in USD or other currency and 220k KM is not bad mileage for that year for sure. You will need to make a close inspection of it then drive before making any offers for sure. Look underneath for rust on frame, shock supports, mounts and floor boards, rust can be a big deal the kind you don't see from these photos.


In a lot of these cases believe nothing you hear or read and only half of what you see. Good luck and hope you find one soon.

 

Wtf is a vapor liquid gas injection system and how is it worth 4.5 grand? It's a cherokee lol. 220k km is 136k miles so the mileage isn't bad.

 

but it does have Umbrella Corp stickers on it. That is at least $1,000 worth of mods right there!

It does look rode hard. Just like Bocefus said, look for any indication that the mods have been done in a half-way attempt. Not necessarily an indication of poor maintenance etc, but not good.

I would also check the undercarriage for signs or rock or trail rash. Not that bad to have, but will give you another indication of what you are looking at.

 

The vapour liquid gas is a lpg conversion so it is dual fuel, and 220000 is kms not miles. This is 4000$ Australian... How can i check if the mods have been done in a half-way attempt?

 

Pay a mechanic to check it over fully for you.It might cost you a little but its cheaper to find out now it has a ton or problems or not.
