Flowmaster 40 series. Magnaflow are straight through and increase air velocity, more noticeably power/mpg gains coincide with it. When I put Flowmaster on didn't feel any quicker, just louder.... It's chambered design makes it louder and throatier at idle, which is what I wanted in my Jeep. If I drove a sports car or something with sporting pretentions I would have gone Magnaflow.

i have the performance curve with the spr 44,high flow cat and a walker down pipe. i love the way it sounds and i get looks all the time.
i agree chery bombs are too ricey and magnaflows are to quiet...but do sound nice. just not loud enough. the spr 44 quiets down around 60mph.

I have an aero turbine 2525xl with a resonator. Get just the aero turbine resonates and not the muffler. Mine sounds good but I would like to hear it with just the resonators and no muffler

My jeep never had a converter.... But i thought it was to loud with only the 2 chamber flowmaster, so I added a modified glass pack in front of it. Exhaust now dumps just after the muffler. I like the sound. Friend has an 01 with factory exhaust with the exeption of a magnaflow muffler. He also has it dump after the muffler. My 2c

I run the Flowmaster 40 series as well and really like it. That coupled with a highflow cat really helped my 4.0 breathe and did help performance from the stock setup. I ran the magnaflow on my wife's 4Runner but just replaced it with a Flowking. That also sounds very nice.

Performance-curve flowmaster 44 with the 2.5" tail pipe sounds about as beasty as you can get and is what I run. I think it sounds great and sets off car alarms as an added bonus. An inline 6 isn't a V8 with true duals so if that is the sound you're looking for swap in a 350.
ive run a bunch of chambered mufflers, straight pipes, and heard plenty of flowmasters and in the end i always prefer stock lol.
i like to pretend my jeep wheeling is like a tiger attacking a gazelle.
sneaks up quietly, and when its time to get up a boulder all hell breaks loose.

I put a magnaflow on my Mom's Dakota with the 5.2. dual 2.5" out of the muffler, Sounded GREAT. So I did the same thing with my first Grand Cherokee with the 4.0, sounded horrible! I'll be doing a magnaflow with a single on the 97 with the 5.2. And will try the same with the 96 with the 4 liter and hope going to a single on the 4.0 will improve the sound.. Don't really care to have loud. The magnaflow had a nice low rumble when not on the throttle, and really woke up when you jumped on it, but nothing obnoxious.
