Good Purchase???
Hello to everyone again, and thank you for the quick responses on the last post. I'm looking at this jeep and would like some other's input on whether or not good deal??? I think it is, however I'm rather new to the jeep community would like to hear the opinions of you "seasoned" veterans. Thank you in advance. Everything below this paragraph is taken directly from seller. His asking price is $4500.
2001 Jeep Cherokee 4x4
4.0HO Inline 6cyl
75,000 miles
3.5" Rubicon Express Lift w/ lower control arms and HD trackbar
Rubicon Express Shock
Bilstine steering stabilizer
Auto Trans w/ aux. cooler
New Platinum plugs
Optima Red top battery
IPF Headlights (less than 2 months old)
Hidden Hitch (includes D shackle and 4" drop w/ ball)
31" BFG KOs on Black Widow D steel wheels
Newly inspected w/ new front rotars and pads
Full rubber fitted floor mats and cargo area mat. OEM style carpets also included
"A brief background: I had the lift installed by a local shop in West Chester. I then had the HD trackbar and suspension tuning done by the Jeep Shop in Pottstown. It was originally installed in 2007. The BFGs are two years old and have about 7000 miles on them. There are no mechanical issues. I am missing the driver's side fender flare. The motor and the trans are solid. I have never had ANY engine trouble since i purchased the jeep in 2005 with 35,000 miles. About a month ago I replace the plugs and it is has past inspection about two weeks ago."

Thanks for the input guys. I was definitely thinking it looked like a good deal, but having those opinions from others, helps me feel even more comfortable with it.
(stupid question) The pic inside the engine bay, the one not showing the engine... what is it showing me? Looks like washer fluid with the yellow cap, but is that box the relay/fuse box?

Sounds like a hell of a deal really, if it's a clean rig anyway.
Look it over real good, like you would any used car. Look for wet spots were it's parked (vehicles with leaks are conveniently parked in grass a lot, so be sure to park on pavement when you test drive and be sure you're not leaking anything, if that's the case), check for any blow-by (white/black/etc etc) when you start it up, check out the tires for abnormal wear, and be sure to check all the fluids as well. If you're looking at a used car and you pull the oil dipstick and said car is a quart low, good chances are the current owner didn't maintain it very well.
Good luck, and post up some pics if you end up buying it.
edit: that was my guess, looks like an ECM/ECC

me personally, I wouldn't pay 4500 unless it already had gears and lockers in it, or it was a limited.

If everything checks out alright, and turns out well, definitely will put some better pics of it up here. Thanks for the input everyone. Probably be about week before any pics.

Go for it! You will love that Jeep. I have an 2001 XJ with 175K plus miles and I can't kill it. I bought mine back in 2002. I have had mine in both extreme environments from the shores of Lake Erie to the desert in Arizona. I could not living without my XJ. Enjoy the video.
