My wife is a diabetic so being able to get out of trouble is not optional.

Yes we usually wheel with others but that means nothing if no one else has a winch.

I use my winch for a million things even besides wheeling. I've bent tube with it, pulled fence posts, set up my neighbors stupid NBA style hoop he couldn't stand up, pulled out bushes. And so on. The best investment ive ever made. Im thinking of pulling the one from my YJ before I sell it and having front and rear winches because they are so handy.

My vote is winch before locker, you can still get stuck with a locker, plus the winch has multiple uses and not stressing drive train like a locker would.

I love my xrc8. I used it to pull my front axle forward when installing my lift, dragging timbers out of the forest for firewood, I bought a car lift off of a guy (weighed over 2000lbs) which he delivered fully assembled I used the winch to drag it off the trailer and into my shop. Used it to pull non running vehicles out of my shop, pull my non running jeep into the shop, I had a tree that fell on our street that I drug to my burn pit in the back yard etc etc etc. For the $300 (shipped) I gave for it i have used it a lot- definantly got my $$$ worth

No. No one will be able to talk you into something you don't want to do.

Call up Detours and get their winch mount for the front. It's less than 300 bucks. (Or make one - It's simple) Then buy the winch in the FS section... 600 bucks and you're set.

I got my winch bumper from roxolid it was $300 shipped with a front reciever and winch plate. You can get them with just shackle mounts and a winch plate for $249 shipped on eBay. They come powder coated also. If you wanted to buy both front and rear the set is $425 shipped
