I have future plans to lift my 95 2WD 3" and do it myself. Can anyone give me some insight as to what I'm in for and what I might need as far as tools?

A little more info would help, as in what kit you've decided on. but for the most part only just your basic hand tools as in sockets and wrenches a floor jack and stands for only a 3in lift. An air compressor and impact would help. Penetrating oil and maybe a map gas hand torch and a minimum of two weeks researching the forums, there's more info than you can wrap you head around on these pages.

I've decided on the Skyjacker 3" Sport Suspension Lift Kit.

Lol. Read some build threads here. Lots of information is contained inside them.

Also do you live where road salt is a concern?

No road salt in Southeast Texas. Just chems and crushed gravel. Maybe some sand but, the beaches and coastal fishing areas have salty sand.
