You wheel your xj? If so, i would go cheap. There is mud caked in mine and the grills are all dented in. If not, go for it if they will fit.

Get marine speakers I have alpine and kicker marine speakers in my xj. They fit great and they've been dirty a bunch of times..... No problems yet

Best Buy suggested the same speakers for my Jeep. Went home and did some research and found out the 6.5" speakers fit, better sound and had better reviews than the ones suggested by BB.

Wound up buying the
Polk Audio DB651 6.5-Inch Coaxial Speakers Polk Audio DB651 6.5-Inch Coaxial Speakers
on amazon for $58.88 shipped and no tax. Took me an hour or so to mount and install. If you go this route, the front speakers mount behind the door and the rear are mounted through the front of the rear deck and needed the spacers. Awesome speakers and very impressed with them!

Polk db's are a good speaker, they are marine certified too so water isn't a big deal. I just got some Polk 6.5 components. Sound pretty good. Of course I had to modify and make a pod to fit them.
