Thumbs up Getting new jeep today

well earlier this week i was stopped by the cops and they flagged my jeep for a full inspection, considering it will take me alot more than 2000$ to make it pass the inspection, ive decided to buy a new one...

ive set myself a budget of 2000$, and looking through local adds i found this one:

http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh...AdIdZ370982510

95 cherokee sport 4 door
black
4.0
automatic
270000 km
6.5 RC lift
HD 1 ton steering
floor completely redone
frame replated/reinforced
34" swamper ltb
HD rear bumper
rear detroit locker

the guy is asking 2500 but it was negotiable and i was able to negotiate it down to 2000$, im going later today to see it as i have not seen it in person and only talked over the phone...

so what do you guys think? anyuthing specific i should loof for other than the obvious with cherokees?(specific to theis setup)

I'd definitely jump all over that. Make sure he has an SYE.

And yeah, all the obvious stuff: oil leaks, how the tranny shifts, knocking or ticking from engine, color of the coolant, underbody rust, worn mounts, etc etc

Edit: I am probably a little late in posting this. Did you take a look at it yet?

he said floors were re-done just before winter, and also the frame rails were reinforced...

also forgot to mention its a long arm kit with relocation bracket...

Basically if it has an SYE, the rear driveshaft will have 3 ujoints on it (google pictures of a "CV driveshaft")

But yeah, as said, those things I listed earlier shouldn't discourage you. Cause those are some awesome specs for only 2 grand. I would just want to know what I'm getting myself into and the repairs I'll have to make once I buy it you know? But yeah if everything checks out and doesn't have any serious damage to the unibody, I'd buy it no questions asked. Anything else is fixable

ya from what i can see in the pics theres some scratched and minor bumps and dings in the drivers side front and rear door, but thats easy stuff...ill get a better look...

i had a 98(still do but its in the impound and will be for trail only once i build it up and get a trailor), but is there any big differences in the 95 compared to my 98?

Not a huge difference that you'll really notice. Mostly cosmetic differences like the old front clip. The engine is very much the same though. Buy it though! Sounds like it's already got the major upgrades. You'll just need to do some minor fixing upping
