Get winch or not?
So what's your option? I always hear of winches breaking. Is it worth to spend the extra money on a winch bumper and a winch? Ive been researching and some people say their winch is great and then like two posts down someone else says its junk.

Some people have great luck with a low buck winch and some are junk right out of the box.Buy one with a good warranty is my advice.Warns are great they have a new intro level winch for about 400.My Smitybuilt has been awesome so far.

A good winch takes one time to Pay its self off. and that one time is when your stuck and have to pay a wreckers to pull you out for 300 bucks. Its worth it if your going to be putting your rig in sticky situations...

Winches are one of those things that if you have to ask if you need one you prolly don't. On my last ride I didn't use mine but the trip before I pulled cable at least 5-6 times.

I really didnt think I wanted a winch till I found a warn m8274 for $200 that needed work, Having seen several different type of winches used on the trail this was my fav, I dropped what I was doing and drove to buy it. Best part is everything is rebuild-able
