Default 1988 XJ

Looks like I will make this my first post. Last Sunday I went to help a desperate family with a plumbing leak, after taking care of that we were standing out in the yard and I asked what he was going to do with his 88 XJ? He said he was buying a new truck and that the XJ was available but it doesn't run. He installed a new throttle position sensor and broke both screws. I am thinking this will be an easy fix. He proceeded to say he was thinking of giving it to the high school or just take it to the junk yard so if I wanted it that it was mine. Came back later in the afternoon to fiddle with the TPS and determined it would be best fixed in the garage. At the same time he signed over the title as a gift! Trailered home on Monday and I now have the throttle body off and ready to extract the screws. I did run it with a temporary fix and she purrs nicely.
1988 XJ Stock Two Door, 4.0 Auto, 171,000 miles, straigh body no rust. Front seats need replacing along with some door weather stripping.

So once I have it running properly I plan on a good go through and if it checks out the fun begins. The goal with be a 4" plus lift set up for overland 4x4 trips as well as Search & Rescue work with the county 4x4 unit.
Not sure how this rates on your scale but I know on I mine it is looking like a 8 out of 10.
Tod

PS: That is Purdy, Washington - not a Pretty XJ (at least yet).

Great deal. And kinda lucky that the only fix to get running was easy.

1996 4.0l Cherokee.

145k kilometers aka 90k miles for your american folks.

Paid 2500, but had to fix the cps and a couple other things totaling around 400$, so final price 2900$.

I dont know if it's a good deal or not, you tell me, but I'm pretty happy about it since it's in pretty good condition and drives well!

Is this in Canada? In America you could have gotten a better deal.
