Hey guys, I'm having a bit of trouble with my calculations. I have a 5 foot section of tube stock, and a 5 foot section of 2x3 rectangular tube stock for my rockers. I want to place two bends in the round tube so it will stick out from the rectangular stock and act as a slider. Heres my question, if I make the bends at 45° angles, how much length will I lose?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yeah, I understand that part. I'm thinking of the actual length of it and not the overall length. For example, if I stood the original one on end and measured it from the ground up, it would be 5 ft. but if I did that with the bent tubing, it would probably stand a little shorter right? I'm wondering how much though.
Thanks for your input

Depends on how far you want the round tube to stick out from the rectangular slider. If you bend the tube out 6" on each end you will lose about 3.5" of length.
Just take how far you want the tube to stick out x 0.58 and that's how much length you'll lose overall.
