Default Gas tank strap bolts /hooks/threaded rod part

Anyone know where to get the threaded rod that hooks into the body and then attached with a bolt to the gas tank strap? Looks like I'll be cutting mine and was just curious where to get another set... Searching rock auto/ other parts sites I found nothing but new straps.

Only place I found them was the dealer. About $30 for each J bolt. I didn't enjoy paying it but I didnt have a choice.

I only know because I did some research on this recently so I'm better prepared for when I have to do my fuel pump. Considering my jeep has rust issues that I've been battling nonstop, I know I'm gonna have to cut those J-bolts too, probably.

OP, are you replacing a fuel pump? What year cherokee?

96 yes I know it's accessible from underneath. Just can't get the lock ring to budge. Figured it wouldn't be a lot harder just removing the tank.

So whats the deal with the internal fpr? I'm getting a hair over 30psi at idle when spec calls for 49+/-5. Everything I've read says after fuel filter and making sure lines aren't kinked replace pump. But how do I know the internal regulator isn't bad? How can I test it?

I had to cut my J bolts once. I saw that they were expensive as hell at the dealer so I reused the "J" part of the bolt, cut both of them to the same length and then welded some all thread to the remaining "J" bolt to make it the correct length and run new nuts onto the all thread. Good as new.

FYI the strap kit you linked is for 97-01 I ordered it anyway to see if it'll work if not I'll probably go the welding method.

It should work, I can't imagine they're much different. If you're referring to the fuel pressure regulator, that's actually located in the engine bay, not the tank/fuel pump module.

96 was a half and half year. Some had it on the fuel rail others had it in the tank. Mine is definitely in the tank.

I just went to the local junk yard and cut the straps holding the tank and took the j-bolts as is, let those puppies soak in pb blaster so i didn't ruin another set. My original ones twisted and broke as the nuts were rusted on their solid.
