Yeah in the eyes of the government it's good. It's bad for the rest of us though. The government steals way too much money from it's citizens and then they just go and carelessly spend it. Which is wrong.

Living in a capitalist country and been againts profitability is a conflict as a citizen. Capitalism, democracy and freedom is what we do here. They are also the ideals we export to the rest of the world in our self imposed possition of leadership. As to the goverment stealing too much money, taxation = stealing ? Nobody likes to pay taxes but we all use public roads, or hospitals, or schools, etc. I'm no fan of govermental waste and would love to see our tax money spent more efficiently. Not going into a political conversation on a fuel prices thread. Our demand went down in the 3% range last time I checked. Speculators doing their job, higher demand from developing countries and opec's refusal to increase supply will drive the oil barrel price up, we pay more for gas at the pump.

I'm saying that our government taxes WAY too much. They don't deserve most of the money we give them and it isn't fair that they just throw the money away like it's nothing. I mean free haircuts for congressmen? A $700,000 vacation for Michelle Obama and her two daughters? Welfare recipients that haven't worked in years? Something isn't right here. I like the idea of public roads but they still charge us with lisence plates and stickers just to use them. Schools are good because you don't have to spend anything to attend. As for hospitals, you still have to pay medical bills, and ambulance fees (depending on if you need one or not). So nothing really comes free even if we do pay taxes, which is

We need to become oil independent, if brazil can do it why can't we. And e85 isn't the answer!

It's $1.09/litre here. So what, about $4.40 a gallon? Back in my home city it's $1.21L / $4.85gallon.

Ugh.

I used to get 300km's per tank (60litre I believe) but now I'm getting 400...don't ask me how.

After reading that little political blurb, I realize I'm quite satisfied being a Canadian and paying HIGHER taxes than Americans.

At least they come back to us, or to those that need it.
