Swerving is stupid in any vehicle that tall. Unless you know you're gonna die by hitting whatever is in front of you, plant your foot through the floor and trust the brakes.

Poor stability control programming and payload at capacity caused this. I doubt an empty jeep with just a driver would teeter. And older keeps didn't fail bc the tires used on them didn't offer anywhere near the grip of the wk2s standard rubber.

I swerved to avoid a deer last week at close to 50mph. I don't have sway bars. Body pitched about 20 degrees, thats about it

Interesting that after multiple tries they couldn't reproduce the original results. If the same procedures were done on the vehicle with the same weight set-up then the results should be close if not the same. That's why you should always do multiple tests with something like this, so you can see what the true results are. One instance of tipping is not grounds for saying the vehicle is unsafe. heck, if you do it right, you can tip an Aston Martin with a strong enough evasive maneuver. Guess that means they're unsafe too.

Oh, gotcha. TCL = The Car Lounge, a sub-forum of VWVortex.

There was a thread on there about the results of this test.

Rollover Warning

Jeep Wrangler / Jeep Wrangler Owner's Manual / Introduction / Rollover Warning

Utility vehicles have a significantly higher rollover rate than other types of vehicles. This vehicle has a higher ground clearance and a higher center of gravity than many passenger cars. It is capable of performing better in a wide variety of off-road applications. Driven in an unsafe manner, all vehicles can go out of control. Because of the higher center of gravity and the narrower track, if this vehicle is out of control it may roll over when some other vehicles may not.
Do not attempt sharp turns, abrupt maneuvers, or other unsafe driving actions that can cause loss of vehicle control. Failure to operate this vehicle safely may result in a collision, rollover of the vehicle, and severe or fatal injury. Drive carefully.
