imo, you should be fine for 38's

alright awesome. so heres a quick D60 price run down (using google found prices)

HPD60 housing $500-$700?
5.38 gears $200
install kit $125
spicer 5-806x $80
spartan locker $350
diff cover with discount $80
35 spline yukon outters $290
yukon lockouts $340

= aboutttt $2065 before tax and shipping
that leaves maybe $1000 for steering and brake rebuild. damn

Don't forget bearings, races, and seals... Usually around 100 a side. And ball joints, another 100 a side. Calipers will run about 70 each, pads 50 or so, rotors 50 a side. So that's about 500 bucks right there. It adds up quick, trust me.

ok so then lets call it $2700 to build the complete axle (including tax) with a friend helping me set up my gears for some beers. then $200 for some ruffstuff steering. so $3k for an HP60 including steering doesnt sound too bad to me. that leaves out hydro assist and steering arms or knuckles of some sort. anything else?

Paint, grinding wheels, etc. Closer to 300 for steering, you don't need knuckles necessarily, and a few hundo for hydro.

I can save you a hundred or three, on the lockers, gears, hubs, etc. if bought all at once.

dont say that haha. you're going to make me want to actually do this. maybe I should start at the end of next summer...

well if I do it you're my guy. do you carry shaved gears for the 14 bolt? I read that if you shave the differential you also have to shave the gears. and the only ones I saw were for $322 at ballistic
also how do you get matching bolt patterns front and rear? dont want to run different bolt pattern rims

The reg gear set is like 150 and to have them shaved is only about 50-70$.
Yes it needs to be shaved if you do the full real shave kit on the housing.

If you get a pre superduty D60 front then the 8 lug pattern is the same as the 14B pattern (8x6.5"). Just remember to get a 90 or older 14b so you dont have all the ribs to deal with on the center.

you guys dont shave them do you? I'd have to go have WFO concepts do them for me. what do you think about these beadlocks to go with a 38" tire or more likely 39.5x13.5x16 IROKS http://www.4x4groupbuy.com/store/all...s-p-12383.html

I was going to go with a smaller tire because it's cheaper but I found that IROKS are dirt cheap as it is ($392ea). I can go pick them up in-store too so no shipping cost
