fuel grade?
Just curious as to what fuel people run? I always use 93 in everything I own, and its really only 2-3 bucks more, and if I really do get better fuel mileage even better!

your motor is ment to run on 87. You only need high grade on higher compression motors. I had a cadilac that you had to run high grade or it would ping like mo fo.

87 octane works perfectly fine in our low compression engines. 93 is just a waste of money, you will not get any more power or better mileage from running 93 octane. The higher octane is used in high compression engines because it's more resistant to preignition (pinging), not for making horsepower.

They run best on 87. Like stated 93 is a waste. It will probably even make less power with 93, and even less with race gas. Race gas is designed for high compression, a ton of timing, or boost. The only race gas that actually adds power is the very high end oxygenated stuff like Q16, CMP, MRX01. You want to run the lowest octane possible without pinging. I've added 6 degrees of timing and still run 87 without pinging. A friend of a friend tests gas stations for a living. Since 87 is used a lot more often it usually has less water in it too. Stay away from little ****ty gas stations, they like to try to screw you over.

I didn't know that, pretty good info, I mean I know race gas isn't exactly going to work haha, I just did some reading when I was tuning my bmw, came across it and thought what the hell its only 3 more bucks a tank, I know the only difference is my cold starts are faster.. and of course I can now go 0-60 in like -125 seconds...duh

Its not the octane that makes a motor fuel efficient. Engines are more efficient the more you compress the fuel, like why diesel makes more power and better fuel economy than equal gas motors. Octane is just a characteristic of fuel to not ignite under pressure.
