Default Front bumper or back bumper

Alright so here my dilemma I have a jeep Cherokee 2001 limited lifted with 31s. I am debating on wether to get a victory front bumper or a quadratic rear bumper with tire carrier? I just wanted some input on what I should get first.

i would get the front first and if you don't already have a trailer hitch, get one so you have good pull points both front and rear.

I did the opposite. I wanted the spare outside for more cargo room inside.

I did the rear with tire carrier and put a front hitch on mine.

when I get the $ together, its going to be rear for me first, so I can get the tire outside the jeep, since I plan on installing a 3rd row/jumper seat in the back. Plus the tow hitch hangs low under the bumper and I've hit mine a few times. I would like to bring it up higher, into the bumper, and not below it.

I have a front bumper with receiver and a rear hitch. I've probably used both equally as recovery points

I built the front bumper first for the recovery point. I have a hitch on the rear, so I built a tire carrier that bolts in the rear hitch. I made my own, but there are many tire carriers on the market that fit into a receiver hitch. I made mine like the KnuckleBone to minimize how far it sticks out when opening the hatch in a parking lot. It's a nuisance lowering the tire to get in the rear hatch, I plan to build the rear bumper within the next couple months.

The front bumper first would be a good choice if you plan on a winch to go with it along with the install. I bought my front bumper off of craigslist used for $40 and a new winch to go into it.

The rear was purchased second only because I had purchased the front so cheap close by. The rear has a spare tire carrier, Hi-Lift jack mount, antenna mount, D-Rings, built in receiver hitch and came with 2 nut strips to mount if you needed it all powder coated for $600 shipped to my door.

Main reason the tire was just to heavy and hard to get on top of a lifted jeep and even more so if the flat was packed with mud/ice or snow into the rack.

If you have the money saved do the rear first because they are the most costly of the 2 and shop for a used front one they can found on CL all the time for XJ's not so for a rear tire carrier one.

I have came across 2 in junk yards both were for winch's.
