Default Flowmaster Super 44, Does It sound Good?

Just bought a super 44 from Autozone.... I haven't put it on yet and I just wanted to know what you guys think of the sound! I'm also wondering can I just attach a Y pipe to it and make fake duals? I think that would look great on my XJ.

Flowmaster 44 is the same thing as a 40. And so yes they do sound real good. go with 2" pipe, 2 1/2" gives the sound more chatter and if you wheel it, dual tail pipes is the last thing you wanna do!. A single outlet will be very happy with.

ive got the flowmaster with 2 and a half inch pipe and it sounds so mean, also got a high flow cat and that makes it sounds twice as good, it has a really deep rumble, and it sounds great at high rpms

Or no cat at all, if you live in a town like i do that dont require emissions test. It would sound and run better without and get better gas milege.

I wish! Living in California, they are a so strict about everything! Even your exhaust/air intake system has to be approved by some higher power, if a cop pulls you over with an aftermarket exhaust (They can even make you pop your hood to check out your engine bay, right there, on the side of the road!), he'll write you a ticket to go get it tested to make sure it passes within CA regulation.... if you wheel dont do a duel exhaust. its just more stuff underneath to get hung up on and smashed. go with singe outlet and it will sound just as mean.

Agreed. I'm from a small town near indiana and my dad is a farmer and every truck out there is lifted with some sort of performance exhaust setup. Cops out there could care less. Now if we're talking about where I live for most of the year with my mom; might as well ask a cop to pull you over. We don't have emission tests in michigan, but cops over here love to write tickets for anything they can find haha

this thread is getting highjacked but I gotta tell you. Last friday night after the highschool football game I got pulled over for a tail light out. Understandable. But both of my taillight housings are busted, I didn't have any doors on, which means no mirrors. And my rear bumber is cut up all redickulas. I got a warning for the tail light being out. The officer even offered to help me replace the housings. I LOVE SMALL TOWNS!!!!!

40 and 44 series exhausts sound boss in jeeps. I have a 40 series and a buddy of mine has 44 series they sound the same, mine is welded i love it. It's funy though cause it almost seems to have to warm up. I love it cause you can cruise with it, and then romp on it and it gets pretty loud, i just slow down when i pass cops so it's not that loud. My XJ draws alot of attention so like to keep it quite in town. Go with the 44 you won't regret it.
