my flowmaster super 44 with 2.5" tailpipe is not very loud at highway speeds. loudest when you stomp on it or are keeping it at like 1500 rpm. at 60mph and roughly 1900 rpm the sound is pretty quiet.

they don't make one to fit the stock pipe orientation though, you would have to get the flowmaster deltaflow 40, which is what I have. It's designed to be quieter inside the cab but sound mean outside.

for a 4.0 u want a super 44. it doesn't drone really at all. it is the only one that doesn't sound like a mini-van with a manifold leak imo. i have the 44 with 2.5" mandrel pipe. got the whole thing for 110 bucks or somthing like that

Flowmasters are loud and obnoxious and drone like no other, they give it a throaty deep idle. But above idle they lose sound quality..... Only resonated muffler worth buying is Borla. Go with Magnaflow, superior muffler with superior quality and superior performance(aluminzed vs polished steel, straight through vs resonated, etc).
