I personally still have my flares on but not for long. I like the look better without the flares and being able to run bigger tires with a little trim is just a added bonus.

Rip them off. I love mine with them removed and fenders trimmed.

I'm coming across the same problem with my heep. I think the older models look better with the plastic fenders gone, but the newer ones look better with the painted fenders intact. It all comes down to how you like it though, you're the one that drives it.

actualy if you are planning on taking them off and not trimming your better off with that pre 97 model. The 97 and newer ones look like crap with them off unless you trim. they have excess metal on the lip with holes for the brackets for the new style fender flares.

living my sheltered life in PA i didn't realize how many other states don't have a law preventing tires from sticking out past the fenders. Personally I like the flares.

I live in PA. also and I just recently painted my jeep and took the flares off. they were off for about a month and no cops pulled me over and I've had staties driving behind me for a few miles on the highways.

It all comes down to personal preference. I like the look of the flares. If you don't like them, remove 'em. If you do, you can do some trimming/cutting and keep them on. Take one side of the flares off and see how you like it.
