Default Fitting 31 inch tires on a jeep cherokee with 3 inch lift

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee classic with a rustys 3 inch lift kit. I bought the kit with new coils, full leaf springs, new shocks, and a 2 inch TC drop. That is all I have for suspension. My front sits on a 3 inch lift and back back is 4... I do not know why it does not settle... It has about 1000 miles on the lift and is still very stiff and an inch higher. I might take one of the leaf springs off. Ok and now to fitting the tires. I went to the tire shop and had them but some 31 inch DC fun country on some MT classic rims that r 15 inch rims and 8 inches wide. The rims have a 3.625 back spacing. They rubed all on the finder and looked like the jeep could not flex at all. What could be a tire setup that would work.. I seen so many people fitting 31 on a 3 inch lift. Thanks me know what u think with the lift and the tires.

I have a rustys lift on my 01. Same as you. Mine sits higher in the back too. I like it though.

The only thing I have that you may not is adj lower control arms. I have 31x10.5's on stock 15" wheels. I rub a tiny bit at full lock on my control arms by its really not bad.

Where are you rubbing? Have you flexed it out to see what the tires are actually contacting?

ive got 31s and 3" lift on my 3 xjs

all stock wheels, no rub

LCA rub, so you adjust the lock to lock bolt, and presto boom, solved.

Okay first things first get rid of the TWO INCH TRANSFER CASE DROP holy crap that is awful for your jeep. How is your fan not tilted into your radiator!!! My jeep hated the 1" transfer case drop. It is so much better without it. And it robs so much ground clearance in the middle

This is 3" lift front, 5ish back, 31x10.5 bfg all terrains on 4" backspacing rims. Don't rub anywhere now. When I had stock bumpers I trimmed the front caps and was good. I don't understand the question. Do you mean aftermarket rims?

I'd still ditch it because they reduce ground clearance and they add stress to vehicle components. Actually couldn't make it over an obstacle because it hit.

yep. Hit the crossmember on an obstacle. Sure I probably could've just laid on the gas and drug it over, but not having the drop would've just kept it from hitting all together.
