Finally finished building up my jeep!
Been working on this since march and saving from my ****ty job but i've finally finished with my cherokee build!
Started off with a clean bone stock xj, no rust on a 1998 that was owned by some city doctor who never offroaded it (one owner)
First i replaced the plugs and wires, switched out the paper filter for a k&n, replaced the exhaust with a magnaflow, lined the rocker panels and undercarriage with truck bed liner, and got a custom grille guard bumper with extra lights and anchor shackles.
Then came the 4.5' zone offroad lift kit off ebay
And a month and a half later 33' bfgoodrich tires!
Hope you all like the pics. Its been something i've wanted to do for many years and i just love driving it around

It's not finished ! They are never Finished !
I don't see a swing out tire carrier, Rock Sliders, Any mention of SYE/ Driveshaft, No mentioning of regearing , I still see Stock Steering components,
So you just lifted it, your not done still plenty of stuff to buy and install !
Looks better then a stock XJ Your off to a good start !

tom - pretty well done with what i want from it. my next project is a camaro.
i have no need for rock sliders, a swing out tire rack, the steering components are fine, regearing is too much of a pain, driveshaft only if this one breaks
my offroad use will mainly be trudging through soggy fields, doing some trail riding, the occasional mud pit. not gonna be rock climbing or anything like that

Lookin good. Guarantee you're going to want to regear first long trip you take. Or first drive on a long, steep grade. It just gets more and more expensive

I really think you should consider SYE, Sliders, and Regearing if you are going to wheel it.
If you break a rear u joint with out a SYE and dont have a spare your screwed !
Regearing is gonna save your transmission 33's and stock gearing really heats up the AW4 heat kills trannys, If you are really against regearing atleast get a Trans cooler with fan !
Sliders, if you wheel they are a must, They stiffen the Jeep, the stock rockers are super thin one smack and you wont be able to open your doors !

i was the cleanest XJ i had personally ever seen, after i wrecked my last one, i just had to get this one. not a spot of rust anywhere on the body. doctor owned it and never left the city streets with it in his 15 years of ownership till i took it off his hands
only had 108k miles on it too!
