Fiat buys Crystler!!!
Well it looks like the jeep brand has been saved by Italian automaker Fiat. The goal of the new owners is to produce small and enviromentally friendly vehicals and it appears that the Jeep Dodge and Mopar brands will still be around under new management. you can read the artical @ yahoo.com

As long as they keep pumping out the Dodge Rams with the Cummins I am fine with that, just don't let the Italians do any electrical work on it.

Yeah, they will change the whole lineup, and not at Fiat's direction either. Most likely the President will tell them what kind of cars they need to make (read: uber-Green environmentalist cars).

Fiat wiLL own a portion of the company, while the uaw will own the majority.
Fiat heads will run the mopar division. Obviously this is big.
A big obstacle for chysler will be cutting down on the overlaping of veichles, common practice by american auto makers.
Fiat is also looking to buy gm europe (opel+vauxhill). They also have stake in alot of other veihicles (lancia + ferarri). It looks like their trying to become the second largest auto maker next to toyota. So they do have alot of resources. Obviously they are well managed.
Considering that chryslers are bound for failure, I wouldn't be suprised to see a big phase out with them. As for jeeps, I'm pretty sure the grand cherokee sells well for it's class. The wrangler is built around the world for millitary and other private sectors, don't see that going any where. As for our xj, look at the patriot
As for dealers, IMO they should follow other parts of the country and not hold so many vehicles on the lot. alot of dealers in asia just hold a selction of the modles and all cars are ordered for pickup.
It could work out well for jeep and dodge utility vehicles. They are their strongest brands, maybe not by sales. They are already proven though. Hopefully more thought will be put into these line, knowing that the perspective buyers are either long time customers,or purpose vehicles. Their is improvment needed and chrslyer hasn't done anything in years

It's trail rated
It's something to buld on
The way I see it, you got the liberty, compass, patriot.
No way in hell will that follow the new model, its a waste of steel.
Something got to go, hopefully what ever stays, will get the attention it's need. We might end up with something to work with.
