Default Fender Flares (Home brew)

Ok so they are not really fender flares lol. I had this idea as soon as I decided to re-trim my fenders. I got the door molding at Oreilly's for $6 for 2 packages that is enough to do bot front fenders.

Sorry for my bumper? Its may look ghetto right now but I'm waiting on the winch to come in so I can build my removable carrier. I have $0 in the bumper so I don't care how bad it is lol. It will look good when I get it finished up.

Nice idea for the fenders. Are those aftermarket turn signals?

It may look ghetto for now but it is usefull/strong and not finished. If you use imagination you may be able to see what I am doing. The center is going to have a Hitch/winch plate that makes the bumper look full. 3 pins holding the plate to the front for hard pulls. One of the pins will be at the receiver of the hitch the other 2 will go threw close to each side. when the winch is on the front you will not easily be able to tell that the winch is removable in less than 20 seconds. At the same time it can be removed and placed on the back when I need the winch on the back. total investment in bumper $0 so not going to complain.

Thanks. I like the way the angles came out. The way I see it is it sorta gives it skid plate design.

That is a unique design on your bumper, You must not play in rocks much, Your bumper seems to stick out a mile and hang low

Good idea to cover up the sharp metal on the trim!
The bumper angled downward kinda makes the front of your XJ look like it has lock-jaw or a cleft pallet... Bahahahaha.

I tried that the first time I cut my fenders but tire rubbing it made it come loose.

I figure the same thing. the way I see it is if it lasts 1 rub it saves a $200 tire from getting a gouge. so for $2.99 per side its worth it to replace when/if they come off.

lol. I wasn't sure about the downward angle at first but it really will look good to me when its completely finished. (what other people think doesn't really matter to me.)

It may not show in the picture but the Lowest point of the bumper is flush with the unibody (same as the factory bumper was. From the grille to the furthest point is 6 1/2 inches. The winch will need more room than that.
