Default fender flares

i was wondering if anyone cut an inch across the whole bottom of there stock fender flares to visibly gain an inch , not just trim the bottom corners but cut an inch off the whole bottom of the fender flare , i searched this but i dont think anyone has attempted this....

it would look awful because there would be an open lip on the section that you cut

and if your not worried about looks, just remove them and cut your fenders. If your state allows
