I have a complete 98 Cherokee that has a misfire that I havent been able to figure out for some time now and have contemplated in the past to parting it out as a part of my 97+ conversion on my MJ. A good friend of mine has asked about buying the transmission off the XJ, his is giving him fits, so the debate has continued. I would be taking the fenders, header panel, and possibly the doors.
With those pieces as well as the transmission gone, is there any chance I can get about 2k from selling off the parts/scraping whats left? I had originally bought if it for the conversion but second guessed myself since its actually in pretty decent shape. Just looking for opinions and/or offers to buy things if thats the route I go.

The rear hatch was struck by a tree
they just jump out at you sometimes. Its been replaced but from a different model, the white trim model so that piece just above the plate is white instead of black (only noticeable difference)

That's a nice XJ. Why not take it to a shop and see what's causing the miss? it might be something so simple, i.e. plug, coil pack, CPS... CEL? What's the code?
If you decide to part out i got dibs on cruise control clock spring, AC components (if your AC works)
lol

The code is P0301 cylinder 1 misfire. I replaced the plug wires, Ive checked the plugs in the past but will check again and might go ahead and replace.
