Default Federal Couragia M/T?

Has anyone heard of/run these tires before? They look pretty cool, I haven't seen them before today.

Had them on my Bronco. Good tire. Equal to a BFG m/t.

Cool, I think they look pretty badass and a reasonable price, too. I might have to give these a shot. I like the fact that they aren't common, also.

I think I read before that they perform well, but tread life is not all that great.

I found good and really bad reviews and the bad is sidewall blowouts http://www.aulro.com/afvb/gclro-gene...w-out-no2.html spend a little more and get a better tire.

So you judge a tire on two random people saying they ruptured for no reason. We have no idea where they drove or put those tires through. Trail cuts can lead to sidewall failure. Happens on all makes.

I for one prefer the Maxis buckshots. They are a great tire, that wears good and will get through anything. But, its not popular so most don't buy it. I had them last 40k miles on a f350 crewcab. That is unheard of for a truck that heavy.

I read a review on one of the top brand tires , he said he had 4 blowouts on a long trip through Australia on the rocky corrugated roads we have out here. I was turned off them until I read the bit at the end of his review where he said he was running them at 50 psi for good gas mileage. The point is , stupidity can kill the best gear and one review doesn't mean squat.

The Buckshots look like a decent tire, too, albeit a little more pricey. They seem to be less "aggressive" than the Couragia's. From all the reviews I've read, the Couragias had a recall a few years back on them. I'm sure they've corrected the issue by now, and the more recent reviews seem mostly good.

I think this is the one I'm going with! Now I just need to wait for that tax refund..

True, but there are two problems with these reviews. For one, these are stupid 20" rim tires. I would never run a 20" rim on anything I own. I am not a ghetto cruiser. Also, they don't seem to mention WHEN they got the tires. Chances are good that they got the bad batch from a few years ago.

The only blowout i found this year was from being underinflated the rest was a year or more ago by the forum dates. If you do buy them check the date code on them just in case.

we have been running these tires for about 4 months on my wifes tj. i only have good things to say about them, they are fairly quiet on the road. and they have done very very well on the trail. i also wheel with a guy who runs them in a 35 and he really likes them as well. we have put 2500 road miles on them and they still look like they are brand new. are they the strongest tire out there? no. but they are definately a great tire, especially for the price. if i were to put any of the "cheaper" tires on my rig i would run these without hesitation. to be honest the only bd thing i have to say about them isthat i can not figure out how to pronounce the name lol

just for info. our tj has 31' federal couragia's
my xj has 35' mt/r kevlars

I ran a set I picked up off craigslist. 31x10.50x15s so no hard core wheeling but they did fine. no problems with them at all. Got the typical mileage you would expect out of them
