FAIL, Epically
Hello my fellow Jeepers,
I have come before you to lower my head in defeat. From my early posts until now I have learned. This time I learned the hard way. I was the guy that defended and defended AND DEFENDED the shop that is a family friends friend's shop. Yep I said the "S" word. AND....they STILL have my Jeep . Two months later. (been off work since the day it went in)
Things paid for already - diagnostic (free), crank position sensor
Things needing repaired still - Starter, Flexplate, Neutral Safety Switch, inspection sticker
Total bill of repairs.....
An estimated ... cruel... $1000.00
This being said. I can say I think I have been
duped, hornswoggled, roped in, outwitted, flimflammed, rooked, mislead, swindled, circumvented, dusted, jerked around, decieved, had my leg pulled, double-crossed, hoaxed, tricked, victimized, shafted, beguiled, gulled, con'd, spoofed, and my all time favorite.... hoodwinked.....
I have to do odd jobs and such just to make SOMETHING until I get cleared to go back to work. My odd jobs I am doing for now are mowin grass or doing an errand or two for 25 bucks. Gonna be a LOONNGGG time before I see my Jeep
So as the title says...

I know how lucky I am to be able to do my own work, and have enough other means of transportation when one rig is dead. Once upon a time, I used to look for a shop that could get me a good deal... About the only thing I farm out now is body work.
Sorry to hear it, hope things get better for you.

and reamed, rode hard and put away wet, left without a kiss, and spanked.
But don't feel bad about taking it to a shop and getting a huge repair estimate. That is what they do and how they make money. I took mine to mulitple shops to diagnose the small engine tick when it developed into a knock. The first couple said they would not even look at it with it making so much noise. They just quoted me a new engine and sent me on my way. The last place I took it had it for almost 3 weeks and never even touched it. I went by the shop on a Sunday afternoon when they were closed and it was sitting outside with the window down and the key in the ignition in the same spot that I had parked it.
