Factory flares
Why is it so hard to find factory style flares for the 97-01 models? I can find pre-97 at hundreds of places online. It seems the only thing harder than finding the flares themselves is finding the mounting brackets.
Anyone have any theories as to why this might be? I don't seem to have any trouble finding any other body parts for those year models.
I have a 2" lift and Jeep Ravine wheels with 235/75 tires. The aftermarket flat or pocket styles flares are overkill and look out of scale on my XJ, so I want the factory style. Mine are a bit scuffed up and gouged, so I'd like to replace them.
Heck, I might even entertain used black ones if they were in great shape. I don't mind chalking, I can paint them with Krylon Fusion. They just need to be free of major chips/nicks/scratches. Maybe someone has swapped theirs out for aftermarket ones...

Yeah, you're right. It's just the bedliner stuff is too rough/textured looking for my tastes and gets dirty too fast. I've already repainted mine with Krylon Fusion, and they look pretty good from 10 feet away. But once you get up close you see all the scuffs and gouges.
Mine is a daily driver, and I have to keep the look understated for when I haul clients around. Sometimes it's tough to find a balance between "Rock Basher" and "Trailer Queen".
