Cool thread bro! Many wrangle guys consider the cherokees not real jeeps because there is no frame, I simple ask to compare the money in their jeep to mine and laugh. Also I wheel with a friend who has 07 JK 4 door and its more capable out of the box than a XJ

 

Out of the box, fully stock, yes, JK's are more capable. But take the money you'd spend on a stock JK (even a used one) and use that to purchase and beef up an XJ, then it's no contest. The XJ would destroy the JK offroad.
