Ever Get Compliments?

It's funny, but normally I don't. However, I've spent the past week up in northern New Jersey at my grandmother's house, just to be around in case she needs help during the whole Hurricane Sandy thing and its aftermath. She lives in a, er, "affluent" town and most of the people around here drive ridiculously expensive cars. One guy I saw was out during the storm in a Maserati (he referred to it as his "bad weather car").
Either way... after a tree fell and blocked most of the driveway, my XJ was the only transportation for the household. I went out to the store, and when I was walking back to the Jeep, a couple of kids in their brand new, 20-inch-rimmed Wrangler Rubicon park next to me. As they get out, I hear the one go "THAT's what I'm talking about!"
They were talking about my XJ. The owner of the Wrangler was fawning: "Now THAT is a Jeep. Look at it... Man, that's not the kind of Jeep that you screw with! That thing is a beast!" His passenger, meanwhile, was busy asking me a thousand questions... how long I've had it (six months), what kind of tires and wheels I have (Goodyear SilentArmor and 16", badly painted Grand Cherokee rims), my mileage (210,000), where I've taken it off road, etc. I took the compliment, though I think their awe might've been a little misplaced.
Misplaced or not, I'll gladly take all the compliments I can on this thing.

I doget a fair amount, but owning multiple red vehicles....red gets them everytime. Haven't had any compliments on the JK bumper, but I know a few JK owners passing it in a parking lot have slowed down and looked a tad confused.

Pissed a lady off at burger king today, I cut off my old muffler and just left the cat on there till I get time to weld my new thrush on. She said my jeep was unreasonably loud and obnoxious. I told her I appreciated the thought.

I got them quite often because its a 5 speed, always had people offering to buy it. Also had an older guy in a nice lifted Xj ask me about my bumper and who made it and everything, best part was we were at a gas station
