Does anybody know how to run a toggle to your electrical fan?

I literally just did this. I pulled the connection and spilt the wires so I could put my own connectors on it. I connected two male plugs on it. Ran a wire from one side to the battery with a in line fuse and a second wire (negative terminal) to the cab to my switch and back to the negative terminal on the battery. That way if the switch fails, the most that happens is the fan runs. I can fix that problem. Don't want any fires!

Theres good write ups on this if you search. 94xj did a hell of one. Im gonna do the double pole switch, where as one side it stays on, middle off, last position has the fan run normal. I would just run power to it because iirc it gets a signal straight from the PCM so if not wired right, you may burn out the computer.

Depending on year, only need to tap the ground wire for fan trigger, located in wire loom in engine bay. Computer still has full control and function of fan when toggle is off. Often causes a CEL with OBDll however.
