DYI False floor for a litter pan
My husband(lovemy89anya) and I are about to be homeless again. we have a two year old cat. We don't want to give her up due to the fact that shes family to us. We were wondering how we could build something into our Jeep that would make it easier for her to use the litterbox, yet enable us to drive and not have litter all over the place. Some help would be really appreciated. we are getting kicked out of our place on the 1st of August

Get a plastic bin for Target or Home Depot with a locking top. Just a normal locking storage bin. An inexpensive one. Cut a hole big enough for your cat to get through on the side, about 3/4 the way up.
1. it is much bigger for your cat, so they aren't being smooshed while in there.
2. Holds more litter, therefore it wont slide around or tip.
3. Worlds cheaper than buying a covered cat box.
4. Because it is covered, with just one hole on the side, it will hold the smell in a little better.

We need an actual litter box we are going to be living in the Jeep. we need to devise a plan so the litterbox doesn't slide. We gotta move the litterbox at night so we can sleep in the back

Hold onto your wallets boys, I bet ya a cold beer that homeless girl with cat is about to start asking for donations. Sorry if I'm wrong but this seems fishy as can be to me.

society wasn't so screwed up, and my in laws weren't such douches...then we wouldn't have to live in the Jeep. Btw, we did it for a month when we first met 3 months ago. We were fine. We will be fine this time as well. I get SSI plus I am too proud to take donations from people unless its my family(juggalo or blood family). So next time you want to pass judgement on someone think about how people have helped you in your past.

I was not passing judgement, I was just pointing out that a litter box question on a Jeep forum and mentioning homelessness seemed fishy. I've seen this kind of thing before and its usually people scamming, it just seemed odd.

Two things,
1. are you in an urban or rural area? if you're rural, can't you just let the cat outside? will it run or what? this seems like the easiest method to me plus you won't stink up the jeep with the smell of cat urine.
2. if the above fails, what about a large, flat tupperware style container with a lid? that way you, like above, can place it outside and let the cat handle business, reseal, and avoid the smell.

the solution? false floor with a cut out for a litter box...the idea is already there, we were just asking for help on how we should go about making said false floor.
