Mall crawlers of just lifted Jeeps. You can take one look under most Jeeps and tell if he really knows what he's doing. I'm so tired of rigs that just sit high.
and clear euro tail lights are terrible on EVERYTHING.

Some chrome looks good on XJ's, but it has to be the right stuff. I've got a 2000 limited that has the chrome grill and it looks GOOD I think. I also have the chrome trim over the rear license plate, but I'm not so huge on that. Adding extra chome is stupid though. Actually, I guess I just like the chrome grill on an XJ. More chrome is just one more thing to try and keep nice looking and keep clean, which is like an oxymoron for a jeep. lol
The CAI's do more for allowing air to flow more freely into the engine, as opposed to getting "cold" air in. A real cold air intake needs to pull air from outside the engine compartment.
As for dumbest mods, other than things already listed, blocks on the rear axle for a lift are pretty rediculous.

They ARE somewhat restrictive (small inlet, ribbed tubing etc) but who really cares? They're a dumb mod in my opinion, but my reason is that they're like asking to hydrolock your engine or at least suck water in. For a street car, sure, but off road with rivers/streams/puddles/mud I want my intake as water resistant as possible under the hood.
