it has been done before but i suggest not doing it..... it will sound like crap and be very hard to route. I suggest just going with an APN header, and 2.5" piping. You will be much happier in the end.
and run a cat. it is federal law.

I was just looking at a thread on here about the very same thing. The guy's Jeep was green. He did a stellar job. It looks great. As a matter of fact, it was in the top results in a search. Here ya go: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f59/dual-exhaust-29941/
Do you want true duals. Meaning using the 01 manifold (3and3) or just a Y pipe. People have talked about it on here don't think any one has done it. The problem is the 02 sensors. And just some friendly advice don't talk about cats here. Period these people get all worked up and threaten to kick you off the form.

im going to the junk yard and am geting 2 cats out of 2 junk jeeps, i hate this state, and my jeep has a split manifold, the first 3 cyl. turn into one pipe before the collector, and than the back 3 turn into one pipe. than they go into the colector, which is cracked, my friend cut the collector off all together, so now i have true dual exaust, that is not finished or put on, infact the intake is in the back of the jeep waiting to be put back in. and now im gona be broke again, i have to get sheet metal to fix the cargo area floor and the passenger area floor, because i just priced new pans and am not willing to spend $400 for what i can make for about $100 if that.

oh wait, never mind, i have this old Escort car that i had for a miniut, its siting up at a friends yard, and we beat on it when we are angry, or for fun. im going to use the cat from that, and probably the exause pipe when possable. i'd use the floor for sheet metal but the thing is a rot bucket, and the motor is frozen, warped and junk
