Kenwood 6.25" speaker front and in the hatch overhead connected to a Pioneer deck. no subs, because 3/4 of the stuff i listen too does not require excessive amounts of bass.

punk rock, hardcore (not the modern scene kid type), speed metal to black metal, goth/death rock, ska, swing, jazz... almost everything, but mainly anything that brash and gritty for the most part. with dirty raw music, too much bass actually adds a horrible tinny quality to the overall sound

part of my problem with sub and amp set ups is it does not compensate for the high-end range, and over exemplifies the low end. the only real way to truly compensate for a heavy bottom end is to have something like tweeters installed to bring back some balance to the overall sound. for me it's all about finding the proper balance in sound, and by over doing the output of different sound ranges it throws the whole spectrum out of wack.

i think of it like hot sauce: too much acidity and you loose the flavor of the spices and peppers.
