Build a barn...
My house has a two car garage, but we have too many toys (snowmobile, motorcycle, ATVs, Tractor, etc) so no one can drive into the garage anymore. One side has my moms Datson 280z, and the other has all kinds of crap. So although I have access to a perfectly fine garage, I have to work in the driveway... Our dirt driveway.
A Barn has lots of extra space and goes with an older house.
On a side not, our garage was once a guest house that was built before the main house, so the people could live in it while the larger one was built..150 years ago.
