DOT Headlight Q
Hey Guys,
In brief: Doing the headlight mod. Have the wiring harness, and ordered the autopal lights off egay. They sent me the wrong lights. HL-109's NON DOT approved. I"m in a battle with this guy on returning them...which is another story. Can I make these lights work for the street? Anybody running these? Thanks in advance for the replys...

Do you live in a state that has inspections?
If not E-codes should not be a problem, they generally produce a better pattern than DOT lights do, as long as they are aligned properly and you don't go too extreme with over-watt bulbs you shouldn't have to worry about blinding anyone or attracting the attention of the cops.
If your state does have inspection you may fail with E-code lights (depending on how through the shop is), though you can always hang on to the old sealed beams and swap them back in before taking it in for inspection since it only takes a couple minutes to swap them out.

Lol, ecodes are approved in most european countries, and I dont think their eyes are any more or less susceptible to blinding lights than are our own...every set of ecodes ive ran over the years has given superior lighting to the north american standard, and is a welcome upgrade...
