My buddy has just picked up a 1996 Cherokee Sport and one thing he noticed is that when he starts it all doors automatically lock. When he turns it off the doors unlock. I was wondering if anyone has seen that on theirs and how can that be disabled.

 

I wasn't aware the newer ones did that. Probably a electrical relay controlling it. I would have to look through the schematics, to find it though. My wife's Toyota locks itself, within a minute after getting out. That's a PITA!

 

I know my 95 Sport and my dads 96 Country don't have it. I didn't know if it was some option from the factory or it was an aftermarket alarm thing. Since he got it he has already locked himself out of it twice with it running.
