This tire should be be just fine in the sand if you air down.My buddies run their super swampers and irocs all the time.

what size are they? and load range? The buddy with the swampers lets all but 3 psi out. depends on how strong your sidewall is. But I recomend 10... assuming you either have the 235s or 31s

I woulda bought the authority because of the price difference, but they don't come in a 33".

Its always fun down there, but you can't wheel or anything, esp in the dunes. You also have to buy a beach permit to drive on them now.

Just have the right kind of tires for traction and keep a good momentum and you shouldn't have any trouble on the sand. Try and avoid sugar sand and like motorcharge said, stay where the sand is packed.
even if you treat it wrong you cant kill it. i drove for 2 months with no trans fluid (PO didnt tighten all the pan bolts) and when i flushed it i didnt find any shavings in the fluid.

Lol... Just bc the pan is empty doesn't mean there isn't fluid in it. If you ran any trans completely dry it wouldn't even move.

I dont get it theres Cherokees all up and down the beach with like 32-35s mud tires on them and they dont seem to have to stop to cool there trans. Has any one had this issue with the Cherokee with the 4.0 auto trans and 231 transfer case?I dont wanna take it out the and mess it up but Iv always heard our auto trans was like the motor its a freaken tank. So what do yall think any and all input will be greatly appriciated. Thanks guys.
I've had a 2000 Ford Ranger, 04 Jeep Liberty, 93 Cherokee, 98 Cherokee and a 67 Volkswagen rail buggy on the exact same beach that your uptight dad doesn't want you to be on. Not once have I run anything hot.

The speed limit is 10 mph. Throw it in 4-low, air down and idle along and you'll be just fine.

Tell your Dad to quit bein a downer.

Nice what tires are you running on the cherokees? Im thinking bout just saying screw it and going out there. Most people say to run 4-hi though and ya my dad does need to chill a lil hes one of those dads that are way over protective I meen he use to get mad when Id go muddin lol but oh well. So any driving techniques I should know for driving on the beach? I know wheel spin will dig you down quick but other then that its all new territory to me.
