Default Do rear doors have lock overrides?

Hi all! I have been having bad problems with my Jeep locking itself constantly, to the point where I sometimes just can't open my back doors. Anyways, I noticed that the back doors don't open via the inside handle while the doors are locked. The front ones can be opened from the inside, as the handle overrides the lock, but not in the back...Both sides are like that...Did it come that way, or do I have another problem here? I don't remember....It'd be really helpful if someone could climb into the back of their 97-01 and lock the doors and then pull the interior handles on the back doors and tell me if they override the locks...Thanks haha

You have child locks on the rear doors, just flip the switch.

Are you sure it isn't just child proof locks? Many vehicles have a switch on the side of the door (only visible when the door is open) that stops the rear doors from being opened from the inside.

Can you open the rear doors from the inside when it is unlocked? I the answer is no, you have the child locks engaged. If the answer is yes, you have après complicated issue that I have no answers for.

Darn haha they work from the inside when unlocked, but something must have broken when they had to be forced to open as the doors wouldn't unlock...I'll look into it. Oh, also tu aime le français?

Hmmm so I went and checked the back doors...They don't override the lock, Must've messed em up by forcing them open when they didn't want to unlock...Maybe I got whatever piece of plastic it is that pushes the lock on the wrong side of it! Maybe that could be the answer to my doors only power locking (instead of unlocking) problem...

Edit: Just remembered that the locks occasionally do unlock with the power switch...Must be 2 separate problems. I just broke the back doors one at a time trying to open them while the locks weren't working...
