If you plan on wheeling it the 8 inch rim will work better because it will hold a bead better when aired down. If it is just going to be a DD, mall crawler either will work just fine.

i will be playing in mud, takin it thru some (not so tough) trails to hit some bike trails with my cannondale.

Hell man, the cragars are pretty cheap (50 ea). worse case, i get the 8s as well or upsize tires on the 10s (which will break the bank for me)

Im rollin with the 10s. i appreciate ALL the input.
