just wanted to post while looking for parts for my XJ , i came across a solid diesel 4x4 cherokee at the u pull it.....

I found one on craigslist yesterday but it has the tranny pulled
because it needs a bell housing or somthing

That's interesting. I think if I came across one like that I'd have to take out the Credit Card and buy the drivetrain out of it.

Ok so I'm very new to the cherokee world and i had no idea they ever put a diesel in one. Thats pretty cool. What motor, transfer case and axles come in one?

It had a 2.1 renalt engine

The diesels were for foreign markets (Europe, South America, Australia...).

The older body styles did have the Renalt engine. 1994-2001, they had a VM Motori (Detroit Diesel) engine in them.... it was 2.5L, iirc.

That is way cool....I have a Turbo Diesel Liberty and it get awesome gas mileage, plus it's a very powerful little jeep, I would love to have my Cherokee converted.

Awesome? Mine gets about 28 highway, that's not very impressive for a diesel of that size and the weight of the liberty. They do have some ***** though.
