So we went out against better judgement in the ol' XJ to acquire food ., huge patches of ice everywhere. Was probably doing 30mph and all of the sudden Jeep decided it wanted to go into an uncontrollable slide. No cars on the road except this little nissan stopped waiting to turn. Well ended up sideswiping him, driving halfway up his hood then the Jeep teetered over and fell on it's side.

The other driver was fine besides his car, my passenger needed 6 stitches, I needed 10 on my scalp and it looks like someone took a belt sander to my face. This will all heal.

XJ has 4.5" RC springs, up/low ca's, leafs, shocks, rokman adj trackbar, 31x10.5 bfg's on cragars, rebuilt head etc.

Cops wrote it off as no-fault. Vehicle is garaged about 3 miles from my house. I'm going to have to junk it I know and am wondering what is involved in doing that, I'd like to at least pull some of the lift stuff..perhaps save it for the next build.

no matter how slow you drive or however short the distance, put the seatbelt on

i work in a junk yard around here in ny. just a call around to a few scrap yards and see what prices in your area is going for also if you can gut it of your after market parts take out the radiators cut any plastic or metal off to get the best price. cut the cat off real close to the ends dont leave 8-12'' of pipe hanging off either JY's dont seem to like that

Well I got it towed home and limped it into the garage. 4wd lever does nothing and it's stuck in 4lo. Passenger side CA bracket ripped off the axle, and it was gushing oil from somewhere around the filter. I'm pretty sure the unibody is twisted, none of the doors will open and drivers is way out square. It was dark so hard to see and get decent pics..will try again tomorrow. In the meantime, here's a few bad pictures:

Well in this picture you can see where, since it was a sliding side impact, looks like the floorboards compacted horizontally , there's a large hump under the clutch area with raised steel, right under the drivers side rear control arm mount.

My lease on this house runs out in two weeks so I gotta go..I think I'm just going to pull the lift components and tires and eat the rest..anybody in north texas want a free jeep (slightly damaged)..94, engine has approx 120k, 5speed 307's..I don't have time to deal with this right now
