thanks guys ive got an 8.8 that im going to truss. the front is my problem right now though. the d30 is crap and my ball joints clack around and strength wise its def not up to it. so new axle it is. i love this site, i will have to check out jeepspeed though. mostly i wheel in the mountains, but i also go to pismo dunes occasionly and i want it to handle both. what is the quality of rustys 6.5? is anyone running this setup? also i want to use angle iron to stiffen the frame, it seems stronger than the tnt setup i have seen. i know there are others, but i have a lot to upgrade and not a lot of cash. still im going to do this build correctly not cheaply. i bought it with a cheap aal and i hate the suspension.
plenty of people run dana30's in jeepspeed. probably more than 44's and i doubt anyone runs a 60.
you want the least amount of unsprung weight possible.
rustys 6.5" is not something i would want to go fast in.
many of their components are questionable (weak trackbars for the main reason)
its also a radius arm design. I would look into a 4 link such as full traction, for consistent caster throughout the range of travel (not saying it can't be done with radius arms)

im just saying that i dont like my dana 30. the spot where the seal by the disconnect is pressed into is jacked up. the seal cant seat correctly. dont ask how it happened, it was like this when i replaced it. still leaks. i have been looking for a non disconnect, but i have heard the dana 30 is weak. if i can use it im going to. the local jy is only 200 for a front axle

its easier for your suspension to keep it under control.
a properly trussed 30 will do just fine up front.
