I thought that I had seen some sort of valve cap that can be placed on the wheel valve stems, that will deflate the tire down to a lower pressure, for driving on sand...say 18 psi. It was on some video, and the guy just walked around placing them on the valve stems, in place of the stem caps, when they got to the beach, and the valve dumped air until they got down to the set pressure...automatically.
Much easier than airing down each tire with a gauge...after all, we want to get out on the beach ASAP :B
Now, it may have been some Australian YouTube video, I really don't remember, and I have no idea where it is? I also don't know what these things are called, so not really sure how to search for them.
I'm hoping that someone on here can help. I don't want to spend a fortune for these, but thought that they might be worth trying, if the price is right.
Thanks in advance.
Bill

I have an adjustable set that I got from Amazon for around 20 bucks. They're not to be used while the vehicle is in motion. I screw them on and then disconnect my sway bar and have a smoke while the tires air down.

I don't remember I bought mine used on eBay on the 2 sets and the 8 PSI are ARB I think.
Air Compressor required to air back up again before hitting the highway and you will hate it if you buy a cheap one.

I decided to go with the unit that was on that website that Andrewmp3 suggested. The one that removes the stem into the unit, and has the gauge attached. It seemed like the best/most accurate system in a fair price range...though it will take some time to air down all 4 tires, it's still a lot better than holding a screw driver on the valve stem..LOL!!
I've got a small 12VDC compressor to air back up....so that will take some time, but still better than watching my coolant temps going up through the roof when I'm driving on sand with fully inflated tires.

So, you just screw it on, and then when you stop hearing the air escape, it's done. Do you have four of them, or just do one at a time? How long does it take (ballpark?) to air down all four tires? I was tempted to get these, but decided to go with the stem removing gage type, as it seemed quicker....and I'm getting old, so time is important...LOL!!

I have the ARB & a Curry knock off. They both read the same PSI on a tire I tested them on. I can air down all 4 tires in about 2 minutes. I have a decent 12 volt compressor & it takes around 20 -30 minutes to air back up.
