Defender roof racks!
Well ive decided against a new front bumper so I guess I have more to spend on a roof rack so I think I'm going defender. Are there any specific places which are best to get them or a specific model to buy or are the all the same roof rack?
How would you even set up lights up there without things getting complicated?I heard roof rack lights are a pain and never really work top notch or well because of wiring and hook up issues and the elements

not sure if all the same model. I think so. I got mine from 4wheelparts.com. I have 4 KC lights in the front and 2 in the back. I did not wire them, but its easy to do. Just remember 2 lights per 1 relay . drill a hole through the roof by the a piller and pull the wires down on the inside of the molding. then silicone the hole up.

4wheelparts installed mine. This was done in nov. of 2006 so prices might have changed since then but I paid 450 for the rack and 150 per 2lite set then the 2switches you see inthe pic. So it was over 900 + labor. Not Cheap. I cant give you an exact amout on the labor because I had a whole lot of stuff done that day. bill totaled over 7000. I believe I could have done the rack and lights myself, but I had money to burn then and hardly any time. I like the rack alot. I do recommend it.

To answer your question though, all you have to do is use the interwebs and go to 4 wheel parts website. The rack does not include hardware and there are at least 10 or 12 other options. I have a Garvin wilderness rack and it costs more but comes with the hardware so that balances.

That post is five years old! I'm pretty sure the conversation has wrapped up. Lol.
