Default Decent places to order Mopar parts?

I've searched this forum and many others, but I can't find a concrete answer on this. What should I look out for online? I keep finding sites that look 100% like scams, but I really want Mopar parts for my WJ.

At the local dealer the fuel pump assembly is nearly $400, but at various websites (lots look exactly the same) it's just over $200.

Every last website I've found seems to have the same pricing, which looks like dealer cost plus whatever markup. Are dealers only able to sell at a minimum price, or are all these sites I've found scams?

The only one I've seen any feedback on is "Don't Fear the Jeeper", but the latest feedback was in June. It's interesting to note that they are one of very few Mopar parts websites not based out of NY.

To sum up, I have no idea what website to use. Those based out of Westbury, NY have awful customer service according to the very limited reviews. Mopar (dot) biz has no feedback anywhere I can find other than a single recommendation on this forum. And Don't Fear the Jeeper had great feedback, but then the prices went back to dealer + markup.

If they're legit I want to use the last one since the physical location is a lot closer to where I am than the others.

Has anyone here used any online store to purchase Mopar parts and been happy with the result?

Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

I myself would look for one in the JY. If you really want a brand spanking new one. Then find a Friend that either works for dealership, or auto parts store for their discount.

Buying Mopar parts is like buying "100% organic" food... Its the same thing as the regular food, just with a fancy name and a higher price.

That's an idea, I'll look into seeing if anyone I know works with Mopar.

In the case of a complete fuel pump assembly it is not only cheaper to buy Mopar, but of higher quality. Locally all that is available from auto parts stores is Airtex pumps.

Well, I just took the plunge and bought the parts I need from Don't Fear the Jeeper. We'll see if the parts arrive, are new in box, and so forth. I went with them since they're based closest to me of the three I found that seem legit. Dealer cost plus a small markup isn't too bad. I paid just over $200 for a NIB Mopar fuel pump assembly with the float, filter, the works.

Once it arrives I'll post a review on here for other people who may be interested.

I need to post an update in this thread. Don't Fear the Jeeper is a no-go. No product, no contact, nothing. My card was automatically refunded today and that's all there is to it. I had hoped for at least some form of contact.

Next try: Mopar Online Parts. I'll post with results if and when anything happens there.

Last heard from Mopar Online Parts on the 31st of August, here's their message:

Hello,
We currently do not have an ETA available from Chrysler. We are
contacting them on this matter and will be in touch with updated
information.
We Thank You for your patience.
No ETA, no further message since then either.

Just received an e-mail back FINALLY and it seems you're dead right.

Hello, As of now we have no current ETA from Chrysler. Their is a stocking issue with the vendors who supply mopar with these items. When we receive updated information we will contact you right away. Thank You
Is anyone else having trouble getting parts?

Just to make this clear to anyone that finds this in a future search, I do not recommend either Don't Fear the Jeeper or Mopar Online Parts!!

I finally got the parts!

I didn't get anything from Mopar Online Parts but actually received a package from Don't Fear the Jeeper. They charged my card and shipped the parts with zero communications in between since the original attempt to order. All the sudden I received an e-mail with a tracking number and a short while later my parts arrived.

I can't say that I suggest them for anyone that likes contact with the dealer but the parts did arrive and were as described on their website. No real complaints here but man what an ordeal that was!

Now onto the fun part of putting everything where it goes. At least that doesn't mean I've got to wait for anything to ship.
