Google will bring you all the answers...
A Dana 35 will have a 2 3/4" tube and a 8.25 will have a 3" tube. Lay underneath and measure from the inside to inside of the U bolts, that should tell you.

You could always call Chrysler with the vin number. They should tell you if the title and everything is accurate.

you can look on randys ring and pinion and look at the 2 different housings on their diagrams and figure it out that way.

The d35 is a perfect circle while the 8.25 has a flat bottom.

you're mostly right

in xjs....
abs only came on d35's

some d35's came without abs though, and 8.25's never abs.

easiest way to tell is...flat bottom =8.25, rounded =d35
