Default dana 30 yoke issue.

got my old dana 30 and dana 35 rear axle for sale for a $100 and this guy is wanting to pick um up but he says that since i took the front yoke out of the d30 to put in my d44 it needs a new bearing now to get the right pre load is this true or not i had never played around with the dana 30 before.

It should be fine, preload is set with shims and unless the bearing is shot no worries.

if its high pinion there is no crush collar and only shims so its just a matter of putting a new yoke on and torquing it. low pinions have a crush collar and are a little more complicated. Since most are high pinion Im going to assume it is, if not let us know, but if its high pinion, hes dumb, or trying to rip you off
